Decoding future trends from Milan Salone 2023

Material: Post-mortar type

Concrete and mortar materials are popular for both residential and non-residential buildings.
Sandstone, a post-mortar type material, has emerged as a new trend, offering a calm atmosphere and a sense of the earth's aging process.
It creates a more natural and light atmosphere than mortar, and can be used in harmony with natural materials such as wood, as well as hard materials such as steel and glass.  Sandstone, which can be used in harmony with a wide variety of materials, is expected to attract even more attention in the future.

Finish: Resonating with Contrasting Textures

The finish trends this year featured luxurious surfaces where matte textures were enhanced with glossy details, noticeable on both vertical and horizontal elements.
There were many examples of combining matte and gloss finishes within the same color and material, adding subtle accents and depth to spaces.
