CERSAIE 2024 Trend Report

The 41st exhibition recorded 95,321 visitors, making it as lively as usual.
Over 600 exhibitors gathered in Bologna, Italy, including 332 from the ceramic tile industry, 91 from bathroom furniture, and 183 from the equipment, raw materials, new materials, and service activities fields.

TREND OVERVIEW

ABK, Sant'Agostino and Gruppo Romani

At CERSAIE 2024, "contrast" in spatial coordination was prominent.  This "contrast" does not simply mean a contrast in color, but also skillfully incorporates contrasts in color, material, and texture.
Particularly noteworthy point is that the contrast is not merely intended to stand out, but is balanced so as not to spoil the overall harmony.  For example, sophisticated design techniques were often seen, such as combining warm natural colors with cool colors, metals, and materials, or adding glossy accents to matte tiles.
While retaining the glamour that is characteristic of Italy, many styles avoided "harsh contrasts" and instead used "subtle accents" to create rhythm in the overall space, adding richness and multi-layering to this "modest" style.
And geometric patterns were used as accents, adding a playful touch to the space while giving it a sense of depth.

CMF Topics

Sant'Agostino, Mirage, Casalgrande Padana

Next, we introduce some CMF (color, material and finish) that focus on specific materials.
The CMF that attracted the most attention were as follows:

Color

Subdued, neutral shades such as beige, gray and ivory continued to be popular.  These colors were key to reducing visual pressure, making small living spaces feel larger and creating a calming atmosphere.
In addition, terracotta color continued to attract attention.  It brings warmth and familiarity to the space.
The earth colors used in the upholstery of the chair in this photo are also seen frequently, so it can be said that they are not a passing trend but are colors that will be in demand for the long term.

Gruppo Romani

GrupoHalcon, LEA

Material

White and black marble originating from Italy, and sandstone and limestone, which are popular as post-mortars, as shown in the image, continue to remain popular.  In addition, we will introduce the increasing use of "onyx" as a sign of new trend.  Onyx's unique clear texture allows light to pass through, and it is used in lighting designs and accent walls, dramatically make the space attractive.

Finish

Ceramic tile manufacturing technology has improved dramatically, enabling Ceramic tile manufacturing technology has improved dramatically, allowing a wider range of designs than ever before.  In particular, the development of large-format tiles has progressed, making it possible to achieve a sense of scale and fine detail that was previously impossible.
It is expected that the range of design expression will continue to expand as technological innovation progresses.
