What is “surface park”?
TOPPAN “surface park” is a co-creation hub that brings together the material knowledge and experience that Toppan has cultivated over more than 60 years, allowing us to create new value together. It is a place where you can find your ideal material.
Here, we support our customers in their product development through co-creation. In this issue, we will introduce the appeal of surface park and some of the specific initiatives we are taking.

The place where materials and ideas meet

TOPPAN “surface park,” which expands the possibilities of spatial design, is more than just a material library.
It is a “co-creation space” where new ideas are born through encounters with materials.
Utilizing the vast amount of material information and spatial creation knowledge that has been cultivated to date, it is possible to develop workshops customized for each project. For designers and developers, it is a space like a playground of materials that stimulates the five senses.

A unique “co-creation process” that values encounters with materials

At surface park, you can deepen your ideas by interacting with materials in a workshop format based on a theme. Your ideas will be materialized through the following process.

By combining “intuition born from the experience of touching materials” with “data-based analysis,” we will work with you to create unique ideas that will capture the hearts of your target clients.

We carefully extract the issues that serve as the starting point for development, and propose optimal themes and approaches according to your objectives.

We will support you in choosing materials by allowing you to freely touch a huge number of materials.

[Step 3  Analysis and Reflection]
We conduct multifaceted analysis based on market data and material characteristics to derive hints for the next development.

[Step 4  Idea discovery]
Together we will create unique ideas that are born from materials and move the hearts of your target clients.

[Step 5  Turning ideas into reality]
Based on the carefully selected materials and concept, we then turn it into a concrete product design.

We have a wide variety of realistic wood grain and stone samples on display. We also have a selection of interior accessories and materials, so you can also try out coordinating materials.
